MK Reentry - Who's it for?

A Dynamic and Practical Reentry Seminar for the Sons and Daughters of Missionaries

MK group

Northeast Regional MK Retreat

The Reentry Seminar is built for missionary kids (MKs) who have just completed high school overseas. The seminar provides helpful tools which prepare students for the transition back into life and college in North America. It is an opportunity to learn and grow with those who are experiencing similar things, while also having a fun time!

Hello Friends,                                    Updated 4/23/08

Coming up:

>June 7-11: Barnabas International Annual Meeting at Judson College,

Illinois.

>June 25-July 13:  Reentry Seminar in California July 22 - Aug. _? :

>Traveling to the Southeast U.S. to meet with

supporters and MKs and help Margie scout out a potential move.

Prayer:

>Travel mercies, as always!

>MKs from all over the world who are graduating, saying good-byes to

their homelands--possibly forever.   We will have 50 of them at the

Reentry Seminar in July.   Please pray that their hearts will be prepared

to grasp the transition information they will learn there.

Thanks again for your partnership and encouragement!

The basics of a healthy family are the same regardless of location. However, living with the extra pressures of another culture, being far from extended family, and seeing far more needs than can ever be filled can tend to magnify any struggles within the family system. Along with those additional stresses, there is also the lie that missionaries have “perfect” families. That pressure to have it all together causes many missionaries to work hard at covering up any issues rather than letting them out in the open where they can be dealt with.

Many of you personally know missionary families; please pray for them specifically in the area of their family relationships. Please pray for us as we prepare to go overseas: that we will continue to grow in our relationships with each other and than we will be able to help other couples and families navigate the demands of cross cultural ministry in a healthy way.
