Sunday Ministries

cmlogo.jpg

We desire that each child may grow in their UPWARD, INWARD, and OUTWARD relationships. This tree logo symbolizes our mission of being rooted in God's word and growing in our walk with Christ. The fruit of God's work can then be shown by grace through our lives. Our mission as a team is to water and nurture this tree so that the children and families in our care can grow on this journey together.

If you are a nursing mother, please feel free to use our nursery room at any time. There is a private room to relax in as well as an intercom system so you won't have to miss the service going on upstairs.

1st Service: The infant room is staffed and available for infants and toddlers up through age 3. Children age 4 and up should remain with their family.

ABF / S.S. Hour: Both the infant room (birth to age 2) and the toddler room (ages 2-3) are staffed and available. Children in the toddler room are part of the Timber Land curriculum and have their own age appropriate lesson.

2nd Service: Both the infant room (birth to age 2) and the toddler room (ages 2-3+) are staffed and available.

NOTE: When your child turns two, they can immediately join the 2-3 year old class. They do not need to wait until the following fall for "move up day".

If you have any questions or concerns about our nursery ministry, please feel free to contact Jane Leech at mommyleech@aol.com. Thanks for entrusting your children to us!

Timber Land (9:15-10:15)

During the year, the children in Timber Land are exposed to both the Old and New Testaments. The summer and fall are dedicated to studying the Old Testament and the Winter and Spring quarters focus on the New Testament and the teachings of Christ and his disciples. Each quarter, the whole church will be challenged to memorize a portion of scripture. Each week after the 2nd service, the children can to visit the Memory Madness booth to recite what they've learned and earn "Bible Bucks" for the Children's Ministry store.

As a family, there are many ways for you to be involved at home as well. The Family Connect take-home paper (also found under Faithweaver HomeConnect at www.group.com/tips/Default.aspx?catID=14) informs you of the weekly lesson and gives you an idea on how you can follow up with your child during the week. A quarterly Scope and Sequence is also handed out so you can see where the curriculum is going or see what you missed on a given week.

This year the children are grouped in the following individual classrooms:

Ages 2-4 Ages 5-Gr.1 Grade 2-3 Grade 4-5

NOTE: All the children "move up" to their appropriate classroom at the beginning of September. If your child turns 4 later in the year, you would wait to move them to the older class until the following September. If your child has a September birthday, we can discuss the best placement for them.

Timber Land Chapel (11:00-11:40)

Timber Land Chapel runs for the second half of the 2nd service for children age 4 through grade 5. The 4 year old through Kindergarten class follows the same topics that were taught during Timber Land. They study the same scripture passage each week but are taught the main point in a unique way. This year, the elementary children (Gr. 1-3 and Gr. 4-5) are learning how to become WoMBaP's for Christ! Each Sunday we're focusing on one of the following disciplines of the faith: Worship, Missions, Bible Skills, and Prayer. The children are challenged to discover where they are in their walk with Christ, and where He is leading them to GROW. These age divided groups allow the leaders to tailor their questions and discussion to the age level of the kids in their group.

Note: During the months of January-April, the children in Grade 1-5 will be practicing for their musical during the Timber Land Chapel time. If your child does not want to participate, they are still welcome to come downstairs during the 2nd service and participate in the musical in "behind the scenes" ways.

As you come to pick up your child after the service, please take the time to connect with your child's teacher and find out what the group discussed that day. Your follow up questions and devotions on the day's topic are so important in your child's learning! Each week after the 2nd service, the children also have the opportunity to visit the Memory Madness booth to recite the verses they've memorized for the quarterly challenge.
